Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion. Jim Rohn

I read this quote for the first time the other day and it has been niggling at me ever since then.

I have often spoken about the power of affirmations on the blog. In fact there probably isn’t a motivational speaker out there that doesn’t advocate saying affirmations on a daily basis and combining real feelings and emotions with them when you say them to make their effect even more powerful.

After all we all know that the subconscious mind doesn’t distinguish between fact or fiction so why not tell it positive things over and over????

But Jim Rohn highlights a very important fact.

It is not good enough to just say these affirmations with feeling and often. You have to accompany them with the determination to follow through and take the necessary action to bring them into being…..

So when you say your affirmations keep this thought in the back of your mind….

What action am I taking today to make my dreams come true so I can live an amazing life?

Thanks Jim Rohn!

til next time

The Beauty Remains…the Pain Passes October 30, 2009

A Beautiful Story to Share…..Author Unknown

Although Henri Matisse was nearly 28 years younger than Auguste Renoir, the two great artists were dear friends and
frequent companions.

When Renoir was confined to his home during the last decade of his life, Matisse visited him daily.

Renoir, almost paralyzed by arthritis, continued to paint in spite of his infirmities. One day as Matisse watched the
elder painter working in his studio, fighting torturous pain with each brush stroke, he blurted out: “Auguste, why
do you continue to paint when you are in such agony?”

Renoir answered simply: “The beauty remains; the pain passes.” And so, almost to his dying day, Renoir put paint
to canvas. One of his most famous paintings, The Bathers, was completed just two years before his passing, 14 years
after he was stricken by this disabling disease.

How committed are you to creating beauty on your canvas?

The Clock Of Life- A Poem By R.H.Smith October 14, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dayle Walker @ 3:36 am

The clock of life is wound but once,

And no man has the power

To tell just when the hands will stop,

At late or early hour.

To lose one’s wealth is sad, indeed,

To lose one’s health is more;

To lose one’s soul is such a loss,

And no man can restore.

The present only is our own,

Live, love, toil with a will;

Place no faith in “Tomorrow”

For the clock may then be still.

Think, Believe, Dream and Dare October 12, 2009

This is a beautiful story which I came across today and just had to share…..Enjoy!

An eight-year-old boy approached an old man in front of a wishing well, looked up into his eyes and asked:

“I understand you’re a very wise man. I’d like to know the secret of life.”

The old man looked down at the youngster and replied: “I’ve thought about that a lot in my lifetime, and the
secret can be summed up in four words.

The first is to Think. Think about the values you wish to live your life by.

The second is to Believe. Believe in yourself based on the thinking you’ve done about the values you’re going to live
your life by.

The third is to Dream. Dream about the things that can be, based on your belief in yourself and the values you’re
going to live by.

The last is to Dare. Dare to make your dreams become reality, based on your belief in yourself and your values.”

And with that, Walter E. Disney said to the little boy, “Think, Believe, Dream, and Dare.”

Angels Through the Eyes of Children September 26, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dayle Walker @ 7:13 am

When you live an amazing life you always have time to enjoy special moments and special words, espcially when they are sent to you by special friends……thanks Donna, you’re an angel!

Enjoy everyone and have an amazing day.

I only know the names of two angels, Hark and Harold. Gregory, age 5

It’s not easy to become an angel! First, you die. Then you go to Heaven, and then there’s still the flight training to go through. And then you got to agree to wear those angel clothes. Matthew, age 9

Angels work for God and watch over kids when God has to go do something else. Mitchell, age 7

Angels don’t eat, but they drink milk from Holy Cows! Jack, age 6

When an angel gets mad, he takes a deep breath and counts to ten. And when he lets out his breath again, somewhere there’s a tornado. Reagan, age 10

Angels live in cloud houses made by God and his son, who’s a very good carpenter. Jared, age 8

Some of the angels are in charge of helping heal sick animals and pets. And if they don’t make the animals get better, they help the child get over it. Vicki, age 8

What I don’t get about angels is why, when someone is in love, they shoot arrows at them. Sarah, age 7

Your Thoughts Really Do Create Your Reality September 20, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dayle Walker @ 8:00 am

I read an article by a very special person the other day. In fact I could call him one of my gurus…..Tony Rush.

He really made me think about what I say in everyday conversation.

Do you every find yourself saying things like…..

  • “I know it’s going to be hard work”
  • “I know that I’ve got a lot to learn to be successful”
  • “I’m very worried about how I’ll cope”

Well if you’re determined to focus on what you don’t have instead of what you want….then you’ll continue to get more of what you’re currently experiencing. That’s how the Law Of Attraction works.

  •  If you think it’s going to be hard work….it’ll be hard work.
  •  If you think you’ve got a lot to learn to be successful…..then you’ll have to learn a lot.
  •  If you’re worried about how you’ll cope…life will make sure you keep worrying

So watch your language. Learn to speak with strength and confidence.

Evict ANY words or language from your life that disempower you.” Tony Rush

Hope you have found this helpful, I know I did!

Make today a great one
